As part of a new programme of events organised by Boughton Parish Council to celebrate and promote our village’s amazing biodiversity, we will be conducting a bat survey from 3rd to 8th September.

17 species of bat breed in the UK, and 12 of these have been recorded in Norfolk. How many will we find in Boughton? Each night, for a week, we will be recording the ultrasonic sounds made by the bats in our village to idenify which species are present.

If you’d like to learn more about the bats in your garden, please volunteer to host the detector for a night. We will install it, analyse the data and let you know what species were found at your home. If interested, please contact Phil on 07935 289 695. The detector is available for six nights, so we’ll select gardens on a first come, first served basis to ensure fairness.
