  • Article in Lynn News

Contrary to what has been printed in Lynn News today, the Parish Council do not expect 200 lorries to disturb our village in the beet harvest. As already communicated we expect most of the traffic to be on Stoke Road and 75-100 movements along Wretton Road and Gibbet Lane, Monday to Friday between 23rd September and 15th October. Neither are the council of the opinion that this harvest will “murder the village” and “destroy verges”. Any damage that is done will be taken up with Albanwise after the sugar campaign.

  • Advanced Warning – Beet Lorries in Boughton

The sugar beet crop in Boughton, on Wretton Road, is due to be lifted and taken off during the early part of this year’s sugar campaign. While the majority of the crop will be taken off using tracks to Stoke Road there will be some heavy goods vehicle movements on Wretton Road, Mill Hill Road and Gibbet Lane.

We estimate that between 75 and 100 filled beet trucks will exit Wretton Road between 22nd September and 15th October. There will be no movements at the weekends. Empty trucks will enter the site via the gate from the A134 as part of a “one-way” system.

  • Missing Cat

Janet Tidy has lost her much loved cat Echo. He is mature, neutered with a grey coat and white “ socks”  is very friendly and might have gone walkabout if someone was feeding him.

Her other cat also went missing for a while but was reported found in Wereham and returned to Janet.

Any sightings or information to Janet on 01366 502291 or Sarah on 07958 621265.

    Many thanks

  • Parish Clean Up

Today (Sunday 21st July) a small, but merry, band of eight volunteers collected 11 bags of rubbish from the verges of roads into and around Boughton. Thanks to all that turned out. We will be repeating this exercise at some point in the future, look out for announcements and we’d be pleased to see you next time.

  • Boughton Parish Cleanup – 21st July 2pm

The Parish Council has arranged for a cleanup of the parish including litter picking, supported by the Borough Council who will provide equipment and take away collected rubbish. Please help if you can.
